The PMG Story
Pro Mechanical Group was founded in 2012 by Marcus Webb, a third-generation mechanic with a vision that went beyond the typical workshop experience. After spending years watching drivers overpay for substandard repairs and leave workshops without a clear understanding of what was done to their car — he decided to do things differently.
What started as a one-bay operation in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs has grown into a fully equipped, multi-bay workshop trusted by over 5,000 drivers across the city. From day one, the focus has never wavered: precision workmanship, transparent pricing, and genuine respect for every customer’s time and trust.

The Beginning
Founded in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs
Marcus Webb opens the first Pro Mechanical Group bay with a single hoist, two apprentices, and a commitment to doing things differently. The focus from day one: honesty-first servicing and transparent pricing.
2015
Expansion
Workshop Expansion to a Full Multi-Bay Facility
After rapid growth fuelled entirely by word of mouth, PMG expands from a single bay to a full 6-bay workshop. New hoists, a dedicated diagnostic station, and a customer lounge are added to improve the experience end-to-end.
2017
Technology
High-End Diagnostic Investment
PMG invests in advanced OBD multi-brand scan tools, becoming one of the first independent Melbourne workshops to offer manufacturer-level diagnostics across European, Japanese, and domestic vehicles. Fault detection rates improve dramatically.

Digital Booking
Launch of Seamless Digital Booking System
PMG becomes a fully digital-first workshop. Online booking, real-time SMS updates, and electronic service reports

Recognising the shift in Australia’s vehicle fleet, the entire PMG team undergoes EV and hybrid certification. The workshop is upgraded with dedicated EV safety equipment and battery diagnostic tooling to future-proof the business.
